McDaniel honors service to community and country. Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders — along with their children — are eligible for a Legacy Scholarship valued at up to $132,000 ($33,000 annually for residential students; $22,000 for commuters). This recognition helps make McDaniel accessible to families who serve.

You may be eligible if:

You or your parent/guardian is a military veteran or active duty military personnel (including the National Guard and the reserves).
Your parent/guardian is a full-time, benefits-eligible first responder with at least four consecutive years of current employment as a law enforcement officer, career firefighter, or licensed EMT/paramedic, or 911 dispatcher.
This includes children of military service members and first responders who died in the line of duty, regardless of years of service.

All admissible first year and transfer students who are eligible for this scholarship must complete and submit the Military and First Responder Legacy Scholarship Eligibility form below and provide a copy of your parent's/your DD 214 Form, verification form from the SCRA website or may present a US Military ID Card in person.
