    Planning Your Group Visit

What to expect during your visit to campus.

An Information Session: A member of the Admissions Staff will discuss college fit, McDaniel College, and the application process. We encourage your students to bring relevant questions to learn more about our unique academic program, campus life, and opportunities available to our students. (The information session will run approximately 30 - 45 minutes).

Campus Tour: Our student guides will lead your group around campus to see residence halls, academic buildings and share their experiences. Please ensure your students wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes. (The tour will last approximately 1 hour.)

Depending on your finalized itinerary, you should plan for 2-3 hours for your visit to campus.

    Our expectations of your group.

Our hope is to provide your students the opportunity to see a personalized college experience. We expect them to behave appropriately realizing classes are in session, and our students are held to a high standard of personal responsibility. All chaperones must remain with the group at all times including the entire campus tour. Group chaperones, not the student tour guides, are responsible for the behavior of their students while they are guests on our campus. Tour guides have the authority to end a campus tour if student(s) behave inappropriately.

If your group is delayed, we may not be able to reschedule missed activities. Please call 800.638.5005 to alert us of your late arrival.

    Frequently Asked Questions.

For whom should I plan my visit?

Our programming is best suited to high school-aged students or students in a rigorous college preparatory based program who are on a college bound track. We simply do not have sufficient staffing or activities available for elementary school age children.

When can I schedule my group?

We welcome groups to campus most Mondays - Fridays during the semester.

Due to admissions staff commitments, on-campus events, or times of high visitor volume, there are certain time periods when group visits are not available. To request a group visit, select an available date from the calendar to the right and complete the Group Visit Request Form.

We want to eat lunch on campus. What should we expect?

You and your students can eat lunch in the Dining Hall for $9.00 per person. If you plan to eat in the Dining Hall, we will need to know your estimated number of visitors at the time of your reservation and your final count one week prior to your visit. We will provide you with an invoice and payment is due no later than the date of your visit. You can mail a check, bring a check/cash with you the day of your visit, or pay with a credit card (we do not accept American Express)

If you would prefer to eat off campus we can direct you to local restaurants. We are also happy to arrange on campus place for you to eat your own bagged lunches.

Directions to campus, for your bus driver.

Follow Rt. 140 West to Rt. 31. Turn left at the first light onto West Main Street.  Continue on West Main Street approximately 2/10 of a mile past our tennis courts, which will be on your left. Just AFTER you pass the tennis courts, look for the crosswalk and turn right into the Harrison Visitor Parking Lot (the entrance is on the right just before a GREEN house -- the yellow V symbol on our campus map ). All buses should plan to park in Harrison Lot unless directed otherwise, where your students can load and unload. An Admissions staff member will be outside to greet you.  Please plan appropriate time to get to campus and contact our office in the event that you will be arriving later than expected.

To request a group visit during the Spring of 2020, select an available date from the calendar at right.
